British actress and singer, Jane Birkin, recently explained her decision not to cancel her performances in Tel Aviv, despite pressures to boycott Israel.

“I did not want to boycott Israel despite all kinds of phone calls I received those last two months”

said Birkin during a press-conference. Birkin said she hesitated to go to Israel because she disapproves of some of the Government’s policies, but

“afterwards, I thought, why punish the people? To isolate this country is a mean trick I didn’t want to take part in”.

She added that she would also perform in Ramallah in April.
