The British Trades Union Congress (TUC) this September passed a resolution reaffirming its position against the “Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories” and dictating that TUC affiliates review their bilateral relations with all Israeli organizations, including Histadrut. This resolution represents a further deterioration in TUC policy vis-à-vis previous years, although it falls short of the full boycott called for by some. Interestingly, the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport workers union, well known for its staunch criticism of Israel opposed the resolution on the grounds that the TUC should support the Israeli working class.
